Review and Assessement Workshop on Challenge-Based Education at ECIU University

Look how far we have come! See you on 13th September 2022 online

We welcome all members of the ECIU alliance and address this workshop particularly to students, tea(m)chers as well as members of work package 3 (education), 4 (micro credentials) and 5 (challenge-based innovation). The event is free of charge and you can either choose to take part in session 1, 2 and/or 3 only – or in all of them.

Goals of the workshop

We would like to invite you to collectively look back and reflect on what we have reached so far. Let us share our experiences, celebrate our achievements, and collect ideas and wishes for the future of ECIU University! We are looking forward to meeting our ECIU colleagues from the various work packages and to getting to know more of the ECIU community!

PART 1:
Findings from researching CBL

Content:
We would like to discuss some hypotheses derived from the surveys and interviews we conducted with ECIU teamchers and students throughout the different pilot phases. Do you agree with our interpretation? What are your own thoughts, conclusions, and suggestions?

PART 2:
Reviewing assessment and feedback in CBL

Content:

There is a growing body of suggestions on how to do CBL assessment and feedback, as well as best practice examples. In the workshop, we will gather and review some of them. Prof. Dr. ir. Mathieu Odijk, University of Twente, is going to present how his innovative way to assess looks like. What about your experiences? What are your ideas, recommendations, and visions?

PART 3:
Reviewing CBL@ECIU and defining the next steps

Content:

Together with Alessandro Rossi, Associate professor University of Trento, we will take a look back and at the steps ahead: How far have we come in terms of implementing CBL@ECIU? What do we want to tackle next? What do you consider to be crucial for keeping the spirit of ECIU on a high level?
